Apr 26 Climate Change at Mohonk Preserve: John Burroughs Lecture Series

The local story of climate change will be explored during a lecture by Monhonk Preserve's Shanan Smiley as part of the John Burroughs Natural Science Lecture. Smiley will speak on "Climate Change at Mohonk: Weather and Species" at the SUNY Ulster College Lounge, Vanderlyn Hall, Stone Ridge. The event is free and open to the public. Archaeologist Joseph E. Diamond presents a lecture on the archaeology of the Dutch and Native American contact period (1609-1655) in the Hudson Valley giving a picture of what Native American lifes was like at this time period. Apr 22 Annual Hike a Bike Mountain Bike Race

Renegades Mountain Bike Club is sponsoring a race at Lippman Park, Route 209 in Wawarsing, NY. Onsite registration and check-in will begin at 4:30pm and the race will start promptly at 6pm. The registration fee is $30. Race is limited to the first 100 entries. Race is three 13 mile loops with about 1500' of elevation gain per lap.
