Springtime in Ulster County brings with it a rush to get outdoors in the fresh air. Eager to say goodbye to the winter blues and give a big hello to getting physical, there are many walks and runs for great causes to help get your body and soul back in shape.

It's March and I'm totally done with winter. Unfortunately, winter is not done with me quite yet. When winter weather, career pressures, physical demands and the stress of raising teenage girls take their toll on body and soul, I spend a glorious day at the spa. And no matter where in Ulster County you live, there's a great spa near you.

I'll start by admitting that I'm not a winter person. But I wasn't always this way. When I was younger I skied. And I loved it. Then I aged, had kids, and got too cold for winter - until I went to Belleayre Mountain a few years ago.

The weather has turned chilly, and Ulster County is wasting no time getting ready for the holiday season. From the simple pleasure of admiring beautiful decorations to the myriad of festivals and shopping opportunities, Ulster County is once again becoming a winter wonderland.
